Purpose ○ Development of implantable optical neural interface system
○ Application of optical neural interface systems combined with photo-functional molecules on neuroscience studies
Contents ○ Development and verification of implantable optical neural interface systems for the purpose of neuromodulation
○ Combination of optical and electrical neural interfaces for in vivo animal experiments
○ Evaluation of long term implantation of optical neural interfaces
○ Evaluation of photo-functional molecules based on neuronal cells, tissues, and in vivo nerve systems
Expected Contribution ○ Acquirement of fundamental technologies for optical neuromodulation
○ Development of novel implantable neural prostheses based on optical neural interfaces
○ Proposition of optical neural interface systems combined with optimized photo-functional molecules
